Barber makes sharp move

HAIRDRESSER and barber Cut Throat Hustle has moved into a new salon as the business continues to expand.

After outgrowing their previous premises in Thuringowa Drive in Kirwan they are now based at 581 Ross River Rd.

Manager Lisa Hamilton said they had to move after growing rapidly and they now had triple the amount of space.

“The owner opened up a barber shop about 18 months ago on Thuringowa Drive just as a barber and then I came along just before Christmas last year and I just had two chairs for our female clients,” she said.

“The size of our current waiting area was the size of our old shop so it was really small,” she said.

“We were getting so busy and were bursting at the seams so we really needed more room.

“The parking is great and we’re right on the main road, which is what we wanted, and now we have plenty of space.”

The barber shop and hairdressing salon has an urban theme with a fresh and funky feel.

Gangsta- themed prints adorn the walls and there are old- school barber chairs on the men’s side, which is separated from the women’s side by an internal wall.

The business also offers free haircuts for children staying at the Ronald McDonald house.

Ms Hamilton said they offered relaxed, affordable service with a touch of fun.

“With the barbering we do cut- throat shaving, fades, we specialise in tracks and then on the ladies we do everything from extension to colouring, cutting and upstyles,” she said. We were getting so busy and were bursting at the seams so we really needed more room

“We’re not up- market but you still get the best of the best, but we’re affordable.

“We have clients who range from a young age to matureaged ladies, so we cater for everybody.”
