Swap Me primed for final tilt

-

GREYHOUND racing returns to the Townsville Showgrounds tonight with an 11race program.

Feature races tonight are the RQ Maiden 1000 final over 380m and the Wee Win Kennels 5th Grade Final over 498m.

Favourite for the RQ Maiden 1000 Final should be the Heath Ardle- trained Swap Me ( 7). Last week this youngster came from box four to win his heat in 22.46 seconds, and because it was his first start on the track he will be improved for the run.

Swap Me should be suited by the box as he goes around the field.

Clydebank Boy ( 6) for Brad Belford should be the second favourite after winning from this box last week in 22.49.

That was his first start and he will also be improved for the run. Manila Jet ( 2) for Henry Parker came from box three last week, and he led the field for a long way before being run down by Clydebank Boy.

He can begin and will strip fitter for the run.

Forgotten Gem ( 8) for Michael Davies began well last week from box one, leading for most of the race before being run down by Swap Me and has a place chance.

Race 7 is the Wee Win Kennels 5th grade final over 498m.

Dalmatynski ( 7) for Joan Newnham won his heat well last week from box one. He is drawn out wide tonight and needs to begin and clear the field for a place chance.

Willy Rocket ( 4) for Clarence Wilcox can begin on his night and is a place chance.

Fool Proof ( 5) for Rhonda Essery began only fairly last week from box seven but he had good acceleration through the race to run down Willy Rocket to get the win.

He has not drawn well but cannot be dismissed, and will be coming home strong.

Burner Bant ( 1) for George Tsakissiris is a place chance.

The first race is at 7.15pm.
