DOUBLE SHOT AT BEAN SCENE

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

GOOD Morning Coffee Trader is opening a second drivethrough store giving new life to a mothballed bank.

The business, which earned a cult following after opening their Ingham Rd store has leased 195 Charters Towers Rd, which up until January housed the ANZ bank. The building was also a drive- through bank and is therefore perfectly suited to another drive- through business.

Good Morning Coffee Trader co- owner Scott McInerney said customers had been hounding them to open a second location.

“Our first drive- through has been really successful so we thought why not open another one on this side of town,” he said.

“We also wanted a site on the inbound side of the road so this was perfect.

“We have both sides of town covered now and we’ll still have our Queens Rd coffee cart but this will offer a more convenient option for people on their way to work.”

Work has already started on the building with plans to be open in July or August.

Mr McInerney said the new store would have the same CHRISTIE ANDERSON 4722 4451 food and drinks menu as their existing store as well as a dinein area.

“We are running at capacity at our other store which is good and it means we’re doing things right,” he said.

“We’ll offer the same personal service that we had at our other store because that’s what we’re all about.”

Leasing agent Troy Townsend from Ray White Commer- cial said it was great to see the building given a new lease of life.

“The 390sq m building was purpose built as a bank and operated as ANZ until January this year,” he said.

“We had a lot of interest from food and coffee operators, not any interest from any banks, but Good Morning Coffee Trader were by far the best.”
