The paramedic was assaulted when the patient became aggressive.

There were no serious injuries reported as a result of the incident. TOWNSVILLE will host the 14th annual national finals of Miss Teen Australia this weekend, bringing the glitz and glamour of the biggest teen pageant in the southern hemisphere to North Queensland.

The national finals will include the Miss Congeniality Night tonight at Waterview 169 and the Crowning Ceremony tomorrow at Rydges Plaza. Miss Teen Australia president and CEO Gavin Dooley said Miss Congeniality was a chance to nominate competitors who had been the friendliest throughout the competition.

“The finalists all get to live with each other for four days, so they get to know each other very well,” he said. “Miss Congeniality is all about the finalists voting for who they think should take that title.”

Townsville’s only senior national finalist Ashlyn Naughton said it had been a pleasure to meet the other girls in the competition.

“Miss Congeniality is about the girl who puts others before herself,” she said.

Finalists will compete for the prestigious titles of Junior Miss Teen Australia for girls aged 13 to 15 and Miss Teen Australia for girls aged 16 to 19.

Other award categories include Miss People’s Choice and Miss Junior People’s Choice, Best Formal Wear and Best Junior Formal Wear, Best Active Wear for juniors and Best Swimwear and Miss Congeniality for seniors.
