A MOBILE repair shop is the latest business to lease a shop front on Charters Towers Rd as vacancies continue to fill up.

iFix Mobile Phone Repairs opened on Monday at 159 Charters Towers Rd, taking on a three- year lease for the 80sq m retail space. Owner Chris Thurley said he liked the shop’s high exposure location and easy parking.

“It’s a six- lane main arterial road, which I liked, and the parking is convenient,” he said.

“There is usually always a park out the front.”

Mr Thurley said they repaired mobile phones, laptops, iPads, and laptop screens and also sold accessories such as cases, cables and screen protectors.

“There is a lot of phone repair shops in Townsville but we pride ourselves on being the most professional and offering the highest quality repairs at the best price with the best warranty,” he said.

“We fix every single phone that is out there as long as we can get parts for them.

“We get lots of broken screens, battery replacements, charging port replacement and tablet screens.”

Ray White Commercial leasing agent Troy Townsend said Charters Towers Rd was becoming popular for new businesses opening.

“Three years ago we had 84 vacant shops between Flinders St West and the end of Charters Towers Rd. Now that has probably reduced to 25,” he said.

“I think the whole of Charters Towers Rd is being recognised as a great place to do business.”
