Change of address is just Apples

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

THE Mac Doctors are on the move after signing a lease for a high- exposure premises on Charters Towers Rd.

The Apple repair shop is currently based at 436 Flinders St in the CBD but has been plagued with customers having parking issues.

Over the next few weeks, the owners plan to complete a full fit- out of a 131sq m premises before opening the doors to customers.

The premises, which was originally home to Cartridge World, is at 263 Charters Towers Rd and has already received a fresh paint job.

The Mac Doctors manager, Dave Albiez, said the new store was bigger and had plenty of parking.

“It’s a larger location and there is better parking for customers,” Mr Albiez said.

“We’ve had a struggle in the city with parking for our customers so we wanted to find something better for them and something with a bit more space for us. One of the best parts is now we will have massive exposure as well.”

Mr Albiez said The Mac Doctors were able to fix just about any Apple product.

“We do all Apple warranty repairs and out- of- warranty repairs as well,” he said.

“Generally, anything Apple we can fix as long as it’s not too old.

“We’re all Apple certified technicians, so we’ve had all the training and safety courses.

“We also sell Apple computer products and we are looking into moving into sales more.”

Leasing agent Alex Nicolosi from Ray White Commercial said The Mac Doctors were one of several Townsville businesses taking up tenancies on Charters Towers Rd.

“In the last 12 months we’ve started to notice that old stock on Charters Towers Rd is starting to move,” he said.

“It’s a great spot here with great exposure and lots of foot traffic.”
