Titans see threat in motivated Broncos

- RIKKI- LEE ARNOLD

TITANS coach Garth Brennan says his team cannot dwell on their upset win over Brisbane from earlier this year when the two clubs meet in another all- Queensland clash this Sunday.

The Titans, who will this week welcome back centre Konrad Hurrell, stunned the Broncos in Round 4 this season, when they claimed a 26- 14 victory at Suncorp Stadium.

They will be looking to do the same again this Sunday on their home turf, with the Gold Coast also on a mission to close the six- point gap between them and eighth- placed Brisbane on the NRL ladder.

While they will be missing Jai Arrow and Jarrod Wallace to Origin duty, they have recalled Hurrell from the Intrust Super Cup, and forward Morgan Boyle will also return from a shoulder injury.

But Brennan said he does not want the team to think they can beat the Broncos just because they did it earlier this year.

While Brisbane will be without their own Origin contingent in Andrew McCullough, Josh McGuire, Corey Oates and James Roberts, Brennan said they cannot be taken lightly.

“There’s players that will come into that ( Broncos) side that would make NRL teams at other clubs,” Brennan said.

“We’re under no illusions that it’s going to be tough. They’re going to want to come down and make up for getting beat earlier in the year by us.

“It’s important we worry about ourselves. I’m a big believer in you get what you deserve. If we train well and put in the extra work and extra effort, then hopefully we’ll get what we deserve.”
