King Social’s hottest songs

-

KING Social are an exciting and electric link in the Townsville music scene, with successful EPs driving their unique sound out from North Queensland and around the country.

Each of the five members of the band was faced with the difficult task of picking their top tune, delivering a diverse collection of classics and new hits. King Social’s top five tunes selected by individual members:

The Freak Show ( MPhazes and Ft Mantra) — Stevie

This song is a fantastic example of an awesome producer working with arguably the country’s best hip hop emcee in Mantra. MPhazes production is heavy, yet fun and Mantra performs lyrical acrobatics with his impeccable word play.

Five Finger Death Punch ( Wrong Side Of Heaven) — Jason

I have listened to this song a lot lately because it shows what servicemen sacrifice so that others don’t have to suffer. It outlines public attention to the issues servicemen and women face when they return to normal life and living with PTSD.

Jose Gonzalez ( Heartbeats) — Costa

Swedish electronic duo The Knife wrote the song but Jose does it better! Way better!!! Just him and an acoustic guitar I love it, one of my favourites of all time! A song for love making if you need to get in the mood.

Dancing Queen ( ABBA) — Waqa

Dancing Queen is beautifully produced: catchy and euphoric, the perfect backdrop for a song that encapsulates the carefree bliss of youth. “Friday night and the lights are low”..... bam! From 0.01 to 3.52 I become The Disco Prince Of Darkness!

I Took A Pill In Ibiza ( Mike Posner) — Angus

I like this song because it reinforces my romanticised view of recreational drug use and even though in the chorus he says, “you don’t want to be high like me”, I often still find myself wanting to be high like him. This song is fantastic and I love it!
