-

From Walkmans to MP3 players to iPods to unlimited streaming of music on smartphones, music has been an exercise motivator for decades.

As the countdown to the 20th annual Townsville Running Festival, keen runners and walkers are perfecting their ultimate playlist to get pumped up for the events.

Townsville Road Runners member Kate Murry said there was one main factor to creating the perfect running playlist.

“Anything with a good beat to keep pushing through the run, don’t listen to lyrics,” she said.

Ms Murry’s business, Shadeview Blinds and Awnings, also sponsors the Townsville Running Festival.

Kate Murry’s top five tunes:

1. One Kiss — Dua Lipa

2. Chameleon - PNAU

3. Nevermind — Dennis Lloyd

4. Lose Yourself — Eminem ( these lyrics are good though)

5. Lady Powers — Vera Blue
