- KELSIE IORIO

CRAFT lovers can stroll through Townsville’s version of a winter wonderland at this weekend’s Christmas in July Craft Market.

Organiser Kathryn Bowman said market- goers could browse 50 stalls for unique products, as well as enjoy a cafe and entertainment.

“Our market is now in its 18th year of successfully supporting local handmade here in Townsville and the surrounding districts,” she said.

“Our market has a huge variety of beautiful, high- quality handcrafted wares.

“As we only have two markets per year, everyone comes knowing they are going to find some amazing creations for any occasion.

“We have all types of fabric creations including homewares through to handbags and wallets, woodwork, jewellery, embroidery, art, cooking, pottery, Christmas ornaments and house decorations, crochet and knitting, weaving and leadlight.”

Ms Bowman said about 1000 craft lovers were expected to attend. Money raised at the Christmas in July Craft Market will be donated to cancer research organisation The Cure Starts Now.

“We are very passionate about supporting our charity,” Ms Bowman said.

Christmas in July Craft Market will be held tomorrow from 8.30am to 2pm at Holy Spirit School in Cranbrook.
