With a plethora of salons to choose from around Townsville, manicures are easy to come by and well done throughout many salons. The Bulletin took to our Facebook users to find out which ones are their favourites.

Rhiannon Collingwood has been doing nails for more than seven years and had her own salon for 18 months. The Kirwan beautician said she was flattered to be voted top in the region by the Bulletin’s Facebook users. “It’s so exciting, because my work is something I’m very passionate about,” she said. “I’m very creative and I really like to make sure that ties in with what I do.” She said most of her customers were able to bring photos in for her to replicate. “That’s something I really love,” she said. “I’m so thankful to everyone who voted; the feeling is just awesome.”

Resident Fiona Mwangangi proudly admits she a fussy customer and said Nicole was amazing at what she did. “Whether it be a tapered coffin or a natural nude, she is one of the only nail techs that I can fully say I’m happy with,” she said. Kels Walker had an amazing experience: “There are so many options but you never feel rushed.”

Danni’s customer Brooke Pohlmann is a nail technician and said she usually only did shellac but decided to treat herself to a gorgeous set of sculptured acrylics for her wedding. “I am so impressed with the work and how gorgeous her nails are and how long they last,” she said. “Just perfect.”

Chloe Del Manso’s only regret about having her nails done by Bec was she had waited so long to try her service. “She works so swiftly while paying particular attention to detail and creates nails that are incredibly stunning. I’ll definitely be back to see Bec again.”

It’s taken resident Sheridan Law five years of “forever” to find the perfect place to get her nails done. “KM has an amazing range of colours, and Kara’s an amazing person,” she said. “Her customer service is like no other and I couldn’t recommend Kara enough. I have never been so happy with my nails.”

Mary Katherine is at the gym often and always getting her hands dirty. The resident struggles to find someone who can do her nails to last but said Cathy does an amazing job. “Her work lasts usually three weeks before beginning to peel at all, which is incredible,” she said. “I won’t be seeing anyone else in Townsville.”

Brittany is amazing at what she does according to customer Jasmyn Bozzetto. “She does the legit job better than the nail salons here,” she said. “Brittany takes her time, perfects every bit of it and even went out of her way to pick me up and drop me home. It’s also nice to be in a homely environment that is comfortable.”

Kirsty Passfield has seen Ahlee many times and said she could not ask for better. “Not only is she fantastic at what she does but she is a lovely person, which adds to the great experience,” she said. “I always walk out happy and relaxed.”
