Free overnight parking for RVs should be encouraged by TCC to boost tourism dollars spent here. Cut rates and charges on Caravan Parks so they can offer a reasonably priced alternative and everyone is happy! Jeff Aitkenvale What a nice change to read in the paper about the Townsville Youth Foyer to be built to help our vulnerable young people. Also that it encompasses all young people not just for indigenous only. CT 4812 Rhyse Martin of the Bulldogs is a Cairns born product, raised in the Whitsundays ( Proserpine), spent a short period of time in Townsville before going south at age 17. Wassa 4850 It is not 80 at Black River. It is not 80 at Yabulu. It is not 80 at Parona Pk. Both ways it is some of the northern dwellers who crawl along and create an endless line of traffic. Then at the overtaking lanes they speed up. Try hitchhiking. Get off the road. 4818 With the Immortlals on stage one was out of place - Andrew Johns. I don’t think he should be there because off his past. rusty kirwan Phillip Thompson, LNP candidate for Herbert states in TB 3/ 8 that ‘ the Govt would not just throw around money without full consideration’. Um, what about the PM’s personal approval of $ 443.8 million in funding to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation with no tender process or application for the funding? Please explain! JH Bel. Gdns “I’ve lived in Townsville all my and I’ve never seen things so baaaad,” I am at the stage if I have to listen to that crappy ad one more time I will get a sledgehammer and reduce my radio into pulp. Surely there must be a law that prevents you being driven bloody insane. They’re coming to take me away ha ha. Ron Kelso See Clive Palmer is dangling carrots all over T’ville to restore his extinct popularity. So how about you clear your debts, clean up related environmental issues @ Yabulu first, then some may believe you are genuinely concerned for this city. Babs @ Deeragun What the! Townsville has a high unemployment problem and yet the government allows overseas workers to be bought in for the Ross River Solar Farm project. What was the basis of the governments decision as this gives the impression that Townsville unemployed don’t want to work. ZRM 4814 $ 30 per day for workers on solar farms is a deceptive article. Free food, transport, clothing, accommodation and cleaning is a good deal. Imagine what that costs for average person. Hell better than Philippines. Ian Ayr Underpaying overseas workers puts a new slant on “sustainable energy”. Wonder if the greens have factored that in to their calculations? Dave@ bushybeach Two popular eateries close in Townsville shopping centres, personal bankruptcies in every suburb, cheap overseas contractors used on government subsidised job that was touted to employ locals, crime out of control. Yep Townsville powering ahead. Just with the wrong things. Bing 4814 Mike Abraham, did you work at Yabulu for 40 years like my mate did only to get shafted? Don’t forget he shut down Coolum Resort throwing out workers and shutting down services to homeowners in the Resort. You and Sandra Chesney obviously weren’t touched up. Smithy 4818 B. Paez 4814 - If you don’t know what conditions Palmer attached to NQ Football, how do you know it was a good decision to knock back the $ 100k? That money would have a huge impact on improving the future development of this code. Whitty Keith Bagley Ingham re Neil Prakash sorry Keith but Mr Prakash was born here and doesn’t have dual citizenship so by law he can’t have his citizenship revoked extradite him yes and put him in jail. John A Smith Ayr Yes Joe Blake I for one am dead against a cashless economy. What about all the dances in community halls $ 5 $ 7 why do they have to fork out for eftpos machines I like some cash in my purse thank you I notice a lot of atms have disappeared making it harder to get your money out especially at the city markets. A bit of people power is needed I hate dictatorship. L. G. Wulguru Subcontract the prisons to the Japanese - they sure knew how to keep people inside the wire for little cost. Lee Condon Can someone please explain why the port should get federal and state funding for an upgrade but the airport doesn’t? My understanding is they are both leased from the government by private consortiums. Please explain. Stevo 4812 Townsville Airport boss Kevin Gill ( TB 28/ 7) is very selective when telling “the truth’ about the long running airport upgrade saga. No mention of the Cairns Airport which is paying for its own upgrade, no mention of why the cost of his upgrade went from $ 40 million when announced in 2015 to $ 80 million today, no mention of why economy class passengers should pay for a Virgin lounge most won’t be able to use, and no mention of why passengers should pay for new retail space which will generate income for his company. No mention also of whether the $ 3 levy will cease after the upgrade is paid for. The travelling public deserves the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth Mr Gill, not spin designed to get them to pay for improvements which will become assets of Queensland Airports. DK 4810 I am a Townsville resident, recovering from Dengue Fever, contracted in Townsville in April. My GP said it had been reported, and to expect follow up from authorities, however heard nothing... trust me the mosquitoes are still about, and there is still the risk of contracting the virus. Did not display the “normal” symptoms and Dr did blood tests to see what Virus I had, surprisingly Dengue was the result. Em 4811
