- SAM BIDEY sam. bidey@ news. com. au

FROM newcomers to the city to divorcees after a second chance at something special, people from all walks of life are looking for love in Townsville.

With the “Honey Badger” stealing hearts on the small screen in the new season of The Bachelor, the Bulletin put out the call to the single men and women of Townsville.

Meet some of the city’s own bachelors and bachelorettes.

From funeral home directors and massage therapists to former male strippers and media personalities, the batch of eligible singles shows that everybody needs somebody to love.

Jessica Hicks ( main photo), a single mum with a beautiful six- yearold son, is looking for someone willing to put in the effort to have a successful long- term relationship.

A strong, independent 30- yearold woman, Jessica described herself as the “girl- next- door type” – fun- loving, loyal and after someone with traditional family values.

Meanwhile, Andrew Dale photo) is an interesting bloke.

Now a civil operator at a solar farm, Andrew’s employment history includes time in the Defence Force and working as a male stripper.

“I never really dated, never tried to get a missus,” Andrew said.

“Being in the army for about four years and being up for deployment all the time, I thought it would be unfair to enter a relationship.”

People think Jess Herbert is a “city slicker” because she likes to do her hair and make- up but she really loves fishing and camping and is looking for a “blokey bloke”.

Courtnee Patterson describes herself as “different”. Bearing plenty of ink, the funeral home director is looking for someone who will accept her for her quirks. She likes creating art from animal skulls and rocking out to metal music.

Robbie Eastaughffe is a born- andbred local who hasn’t had the best of luck with finding the right girl but is still very hopeful.

Stacey Scipilliti is a part- time teacher and part- time massage therapist – that’s right, guys, who ( main wouldn’t want a partner with massage skills after a long week at work?

Maddie Healey is a single mum who is looking for someone special to join her family. “I don’t need tall, dark and handsome – I need loyal, funny and loving,” she said.

Ever heard of the saying, “you have a face for radio”? Well, that doesn’t apply to local DJs Luke Lum and Crystal Vas, both of whom have busy social lives and are looking for someone to share them with.

Even this reporter is on the hunt for a partner in crime. I’m just a “what you see is what you get” kind of guy looking for a genuine girl my nan would be happy to see me with.

If you’re interested in getting to know any of our bachelors or bachelorettes, please reach out to them via email.
