Matt’s a natural at spinning tales

-

THE Townsville Bulletin’s event was another success.

The quarterly VIP event gives members the opportunity to meet and greet with some of the most interesting, inspiring and charming celebrities in Australia.

Outback Wrangler Matt Wright endeared himself to everyone attending the event last Friday at the Ville ResortCasino.

The fun banter between Matt and interviewer, Olympian Hayley Lewis, was one of the highlights of the evening.

Hayley teased him for downing nu- Castle Club merous Great Northern stubbies while he quipped about her inability to stay on the track.

More than 200 guests together with event sponsors, the Digimen and Queensland Plastic Surgery, heard about the helicopter pilot and dangerous animal expert’s early life spent between Papua New Guinea, South Australia, Cairns and then Darwin, before he started work at a cattle station near Chillagoe.

There was a bit of a tumultuous family life, tales of bringing dead bats into Edge Hill State School classrooms and how being a larrikin had caused Matt a bit of grief at times.

The evening also raised funds for two charities – Althea Projects and PCYC Townsville, with both not- for- profits, channelling the money back into the local community.

The final Castle Club event for this year is sure to be a memorable one.

It will see Hollywood gossip guru, Richard Reid take the stage at the Ville Resort- Casino on Friday, November 23.

The Townsville Bulletin’s Castle Club will bring another impressive line up as part of the 2019 event schedule.
