KAP ignores bush then bemoans staff situation
KATTER’S Australian Party members are bleating about wanting extra taxpayer- funded staff over and above the entitlement of parliamentary members.
KAP struck this sweetheart deal in exchange for supporting the Palaszczuk Labor Government in the last term of Parliament and at the 2017 state election.
The KAP preferenced Labor ahead of the LNP in a number of seats at the election, which helped Labor achieve a majority government and force the worst vegetation management laws in history on regional electorates.
In the current Parliament, the KAP leader seconded the motion to elect the Labor Government’s Speaker. Despite being paid an extra $ 24,000 each a year for being on parliamentary committees, KAP members had a poor attendance record at committee meetings in the last term of Parliament.
Despite having more staff than other MPs’ entitlement, KAP took the bush for granted.
They failed to turn up to the State Development, Natural Resources and Agricultural Industry Development Committee earlier this year – one of the most important parliamentary days of the year.
KAP is resorting to sour grapes because it has been called out on its voting record and support of Labor.
KAP’s deal with Labor delivered the devastating vegetation management laws the Warrego electorate can’t afford.
