FRIENDS TO JOIN FORCES
TWO of Townsville’s most eligible bachelorettes have each other’s back in the search for love.
When they opened last Saturday’s Bulletin, Bridget Ruby and Kate Ashman were pleasantly surprised to learn each had put themselves out there as confident single women.
The friends had no idea each other had decided to take part in the Bulletin’s Bachelor and Bachelorette articles but are now making the most of it. The pair of 28- year- olds have been confiding in each other as they sift through the men of Townsville who have already reached out to them after last week’s article.
Bridget, 28, who owns and operates Beauty on Stanley, said she’d received some lovely messages from some of the men in Townsville, as well as some less than desirable contact. “Some of the emails have been really lovely and I have replied to a few so we will see what comes of that,” Bridget said.
“There have also been a lot of random social media requests, which I have had to ignore.”
Kate, a 28- year- old marketing manager, said it was great to have a friend to share the rather unusual experience with.
“We’ve been swapping stories, that’s for sure,” Kate said.
“We are both looking for someone genuine and have helped each other filter through some of the people who have made contact.”
One plucky young chap tried the same moves on each of them, which came as somewhat of a shock.
The pair are open to having each other’s back if they happen to take the chance in dating any of their suitors.
“A double date would certainly take the pressure off and being with someone familiar would be nice,” Kate said. Each friend had glowing words for why the other deserved to find a good partner.
“She’s really down to earth, lovely and relatable,” Kate said of Bridget.
“She’s a country chick who likes to go camping and is very successful with her business in Townsville that has an awesome reputation.”
Bridget labelled Kate as “bubbly, accomplished, healthy and active”.
“She has got her life together, is really lovely and beautiful … what’s not to go for,” she said.
“She’s a great dog mum, too, loves her dog … If I was a man looking for a date I’d take her out.”
