DINOS SHOWCASE ROAR APPEAL

-

SCHOOL holidays have started with some prehistoric favourites at the Museum of Tropical Queensland. The Dino Descendants school holiday program is offering larger- than- life thrills.

From today to Thursday, visitors can meet living descendants of dinosaurs at the live birds of prey shows. Then the next week singing palaeontologist Professor Flint will host the Legends of the Dinosaurs Show three times a day from October 2 to 4.

B- Rex, the museum’s baby T- Rex puppet is among of the attractions on offer.

Exhibition and public programs officer Claire Speedie said they expected to see a lot of dinosaur lovers during the school holidays.

“The Dinosaur rEvolution exhibition has been really popular in itself and having all these dinosaur activities will be a big drawcard,” she said.

“If you had an interest in dinosaurs when you were little I don’t think you ever grow out of it.

“This exhibition has feathered dinosaurs and different things so it takes what you think you know about dinosaurs and surprises you.

“I think kids will probably have a look at the exhibitions and then maybe go have a dig in the dig pit while the parents read all the information.”

The holiday program runs to October 7. All activities and shows are free with museum admission.
