EFEX expands by taking a big Think
BUSINESS technology group EFEX has acquired Queensland- based Think Office Technology, including its Townsville operations.
Think Office Technology general manager Warren Heath has retained his role here and is now on the senior management team of the merged entity.
EFEX CEO Nick Sheehan said the company had viewed the Queensland market as a growth opportunity and considered Think Office Technology a natural fit.
“The office technology sector is changing rapidly as a result of the digital disruption of the global economy,” Mr Sheehan said.
“By having Think Office Technology join with EFEX, we will now be able to offer our customers a broader range of services with an increasing emphasis on voice and data technology, IT solutions, cloud data storage and IT security.”
Mr Sheehan said EFEX also specialised in managed technology services, bundling the services into one simple finance payment for businesses.
“This makes it simple for small, medium and large businesses to manage cashflow, while also ensuring they remain abreast of this rapid technology change,” Mr Sheehan said. “We want to assure all of our hundreds of customers in Queensland that it is business as usual and our long commitment to community sponsorship of local sporting teams, charities and events will remain unchanged.”
Think Office Technology set up shop on the Sunshine Coast in 1993 as a specialist photocopier and a print retailer.
It later expanded to other regional centres including Gladstone, Toowoomba, Mackay, Townsville, Emerald and Cairns.
It offered a range of man- aged print services and ICT solutions.
Mr Heath said Think Office Technology had been operating in Townsville since 2006 and now employed 10 people.
He said they were now in the process of rebranding to EFEX.
“All of the staff here are local. It’s been a good journey,” Mr Heath said.
Along with its new footprint in Queensland and operations in NSW and Victoria, EFEX has a new office in South Australia, making it a major player in the national technology market.
