Townsville Bulletin

Nominate for most influential

-

INFLUENCE. By definition, it’s the “capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behaviour of someone or something”.

Annually, the Townsville Bulletin publishes a list of the city’s 50 most influential people.

Last year, Mayor Jenny Hill took the top spot but whether or not she will hold onto the coveted position remains to be seen.

Starting on Tuesday, November 20, we will release the countdown of big names culminating in the full list being published in the Bulletin on Saturday, November 24.

This is not a rich list popularity contest.

Nor is it a fait accompli that popularly elected politicians are given a spot in the top 50.

Everyone has to have earned their place.

It’s about those who have the power, and more importantly use that power, to effect the goings on in Townsville.

So just who are the people making the biggest difference in the city?

This year, we are asking our readers to send us nominations for the influential list.

All nominations will be put to a judging panel who will rank the entries in order and decide who will make the cut, and who will not.

To nominate an individual, please send their full name along with a 100- word justification for their selection to j enna. cairney@ news. com. au by Monday, October 22. or
