Sadie’s a little dynamo at working out

- MADURA MCCORMACK

SADIE Devine likes to twist her arms and do squats when the warm- up music comes on at bootcamp class – even though she just 13 months old.

Mum Maree said this has been a consequence of her daughter tagging along almost every time she heads to fitness classes.

“I was late getting into the whole exercise thing, I was never excited about it,” Mrs Devine said.

“Now I think it’s going to be really fun for her, she’ll grow with it and have a passion for it early, not be a stubborn teenager who doesn’t want to go to school sport like I did.

“Now that she’s walking, she’ll copy the girls and do squats with them.

“As soon as the warm- up music starts she’ll start squatting and twist her arms and her legs around to make it look like she’s doing what we’re doing.”

Mrs Devine, 26, went to classes run by personal trainer Jude Morganson from Just Move It Health and Fitness, up until she was 35 weeks pregnant.

“She made sure I was doing the right exercises, because when you’re pregnant your muscles are a bit more relaxed,” she said.

“The last three or four years I’ve lost weight, I’ve found the classes have been a good way to make friends, and it started because I wanted to keep active.”

And nothing can hold back the pair’s exercise time, with mum and bub heading to fitness classes four times a week or going on long walks.
