A NEW nail and beauty shop has opened in Kirwan offering some of the most creative nail art in Townsville.

Coco Chanails & Beauty has opened at Canterbury Place on Kern Brothers Drive in Kirwan.

Owners Syd Young and Dee Tran have signed a three- year lease for the 120sq m store across the road from Willows Shopping Centre.

The pair said they didn’t want to be in a shopping centre and the location meant they could have flexible opening hours and customers could park at the front door.

Ms Tran has previously operated nail franchises but has stepped out on her own to open a local nail and beauty salon.

“We do anything to do with nails, like natural nails, acrylic nails, gel nails, pedicure foot spas and we also offer beauty services like waxing,” she said.

“We do a lot of special feature nails like nail art, blooming gels and 3d nails. The feedback from our customers has been very positive and we haven’t had a bad comment.

“We take a lot of pride in our work and we want to make sure our customers walk out with the biggest smiles on their faces.”

Colliers International commercial and industrial executive Shaun McLaren said the salon was in a desirable location.

“It’s good to see another small business opening up and it shows a bit of confidence in Townsville,” he said. “It’s got great exposure being at the entrance of Willows Shopping Centre and the fit- out is amazing.”
