Move a sign of success

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

SKILL360 has opened a new office at Canterbury Place following the employment and training organisation outgrowing its previous base.

It is now operating out of the new 135sq m office in Kern Brothers Drive, after moving from Parkside Plaza in Bamford Lane in Kirwan.

Chief executive officer Michael Phillips said the new office was one of two Skill360 Australia had in Townsville. From them, the organisation delivers the Transition to Work service ( TTW), a Federal Government initiative providing intensive pre-employment support to improve the work readiness of young people.

“The service has a strong focus on helping young people to understand what is expected in the workplace and aims to help them to develop the skills, attitudes and behaviours expected by employers and keep them in the job,” he said.

Mr Phillips said the office had great exposure and was easy to find, across the road from Willows Shopping Centre.

“Skill360 has been delivering the TTW program in Kirwan since March 2016,” he said.

“The growth and success of the TTW program has meant that we had outgrown our old office at Parkside Plaza. Our old office simply wasn’t big enough and didn’t provide all of the facilities that we now need.”

Knight Frank leasing executive Louise Slater said Skill360 had gone from a 57sq m office to 135sq m.

“Skill360 have been a quality long- term tenant in one of Knight Frank’s managed shopping centres for a good number of years.

“When their lease came up to finish and they needed more space for their growing business, I was confident Canterbury Place was going to be their next home.

“The centre offered them great exposure, easy parking and is walking distance to Willows.

“It’s a great fit to the centre that already houses other service provider Australian Hearing.

“Several other vacancies are still available at Canterbury Place, including office space and a food space with a fully fitted- out kitchen.”
