Bob puts Canberra on notice

-

BOB Katter is mad as hell and he’s going to make sure the Federal Government knows it.

Mr Katter has today revealed his party’s expectations of the minority Scott Morrison government should it require the support of the North Queenslandbased political stalwart.

He’s not afraid to punish politicians who don’t listen to him. So it should be a relief to North Queenslanders that water security for the region was his top priority and he was concerned about water for Townsville.

Interestingly both he and Katter’s Australian Party senator Fraser Anning have put the concerns of veterans high up in their list of demands.

The changes they want to see happen for our war heroes appear to be relatively easy to achieve yet significant to the lives of those men and women who have served their country so loyally.

The KAP is clearly putting the battlers first and it will be interesting to see how their demands are met by a struggling Liberal Government and received by the general voting public.

Coralee’s cancer battle

TOO many of us have been touched by cancer. Whether we’ve fought our own personal battles or had a family member or friend diagnosed with this terrible illness, most of us have experienced the huge impact cancer inflicts.

On Tuesday, Member for Mundingburra Coralee O’Rourke told the Bulletin she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Ms O’Rourke, who is also the Minister for Communities, Disability Services and Seniors, said she would undergo surgery this week. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Ms O’Rourke used her diagnosis to serve as a reminder for women to seek advice if they have concerns about their health.

The outpouring of support for the MP has been significant and the Bulletin would like to wish Ms O’Rourke a speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time, Ms O’Rourke.
