WHAT’S ON FOR HALLOWEEN

FROM haunted houses, to spooky school fairs and pubs turning gory, Townsville is getting into the Halloween theme with gusto this weekend.

1. SPOOKSDALE HAUNT

Saturday from 6.30pm to 11.30pm and then Halloween night, October 31 from 5– 7pm ( kidfriendl­y walk through) and 7.30– 11pm at 4 Starling Cresent, Condon.

Townsville’s best haunted house will come alive again this weekend, just in time for Halloween. ‘ Spooksdale Haunt’ promises to help the homeless ' one scream at a time’ with a $ 2 donation as entry to the haunted house in Condon.

There are 15 rooms to explore, a blacklight lobby and one of two pathways to choose from.

2. HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACUL­AR BOUT

Towns Villains Halloween Roller Derby Bout will be held at Sk8way Condon on Saturday at 6.50pm, entry just a gold coin donation.

First up, the juniors demonstrat­e that spookiness comes in all sizes when the witches take on the zombies. Then the ladies take the track in the traditiona­l pumpkins vs ghosts bout. And then the blokes will jump on board for the co- ed werewolves vs vampires bout. As well as the derby action, there’ll be prizes for best dressed and an inflatable kingdom.

3. HALLOWEEN FAIR

Saturday from 4– 7pm at The Village, Wes Barrett Park, Oonoonba.

Wear your scariest Halloween costume and come down to the most fiendish night of the year.

There’ll be a haunted house ( 16+ age restrictio­n) and fun for all ages with games, arts and crafts including pumpkin carving, face painting and music.

Food trucks will be on hand, with scary characters roaming the park.

4. SKATE INTO HALLOWEEN WEEKEND

Sk8way Townsville and Inflatable Kingdom are hosting some spooky fun, Saturday 10am– noon and 1– 5pm and Sunday 9am– noon.

For fun, games and prizes to win pick between skating or jumping and just join in, with s scary costumes encouraged.

5 MUMMA BEARS HALLOWEEN

Friday and Saturday nights 6– 11pm at 109 Lillipilli St, Vincent. After a spell last year, best friends Michelle Stewart and Michele Toms have returned this year to put on their “last e ever” haunted house in Vincent. Gold coin entry will get you access to t the extravagan­t haunted ‘ hotel’, a s sausage sizzle on site as well as FC C Coffee, churros and photo booths.

6. CARNEVIL HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Mad Cow is getting into the Halloween spirit on Saturday from 8pm, with fairy floss, popcorn, carnival games, kissing booth, clowns and more. Tricks and treats with prizes and creepy disguises. Free entry, 18+.

7. TEN- PIN SPOOKS

Kingpin Townsville on High Range Drive and Townsville Tenpin on Bamford Lane are both holding Halloween- themed nights Saturday.

Kingpin’s night starts at 7pm where $ 40 gets you unlimited bowling and laser skirmish, prizes and games through the night and much more.

Townsville Tenpin has a $ 19 monster deal with one game of tenpin, a dodgem ride and 10 arcade tokens, with prizes for best dressed and monster themed all night.

It all starts at 6.30pm

8. UNDERGROUN­D HALLOWEEN PARTY

Empire Alternacad­e and Events is hosting its ‘ first annual Empire Halloween Party’ at its basement- level premises at 409 Flinders St.

The theme is the walking dead, with prizes, themed cocktails, free food and free entry all night.

9. KIDS SPOOKTACUL­AR HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Dalrymple Hotel is hosting a free fun party for youngsters on Sunday from noon to 3pm.

There’ll be party food, face painting, games and goodie bags.

10. ULTRAGLOW ‘ BLOOD BATH’

Ultraglow Paint Party Australia is returning to FLNDRS nightclub for a special Halloween edition “blood bath”.

Dress in white, leave in colour on Saturday night.

Resident DJs Mosto, Jake Jawz and Ender will provide the music.
