TYSON Wagner, of Bad Influence, Tony Cook, Brooke “Josie” Roberts and Brody MacGregor, also of Bad Influence, will be part of the entertainment at Townsville Rock Fest Gone Country today. The event at Murray Sporting Complex will feature a mix of country and rock music headlined by Troy Cassar- Daley, the McClymonts and Voice winner Judah Kelly.

MOTORING enthusiasts are gearing up for a massive display of the region’s most impressive cars and bikes this weekend.

Townsville Rock Fest Gone Country will present Show ’ n Shine Car and Bike Show, a massive display of everything on wheels from vintage cars to trucks to motorbikes and more.

Locals and visitors from around the region are expected to turn out in numbers to enjoy both the car show and the music at one of Townsville’s most highly anticipated concert events.

Event manager Marion Lawrence said the combination of the Townsville Rock Fest with Show ’ n Shine would allow the event as a whole to evolve further.

“We are thrilled to include this as part of the program,” she said.

The Show ’ n Shine will also give car lovers the chance to meet the owners of the vintage and restored vehicles.

“It was important to not only feature amazing cars and bikes and the craftsman that it takes to maintain and restore them, but to also bring together another element to enhance the festival atmosphere,” Ms Lawrence said.

“We hope the public come and check out these fantastic cars and bikes, meet their enthusiastic owners, have a meal, a drink or two and enjoy the bands.”

Bad Influence lead singer Tony Cook said he hoped to help promote the bush and its people.

“We’re so stoked and can’t wait to be performing, to be honest with you,” he said.

“We’re passionate about the country music, it’s very soulful and wholesome, there’s no swearing and there’s a purity to it.

“Hopefully lots of people will turn out – it’s the only way we can continue to come up here and get big names as well.”

Mr Cook said the band would be debuting its new album.

“Our music video has been well received and I think there’s a hunger for the music,” he said.
