THE Mater Hospital’s directors who spearheaded the $ 52 million Pimlico upgrade are looking for an additional member to boost their ranks.

Townsville businessman and Mater Hospital chairman Patrick Brady said the nine board members had a wealth of experience and expertise, and were looking for an additional director to complement their skill set.

Mr Brady, who has more than 30 years’ experience in civil engineering, said a 10year plan for the Pimlico campus was under way.

Stage 1 of the Pimlico upgrade project includes additional digital operating theatres, a new day surgery, expanded X- ray facilities and a new main hospital entrance.

“We are embarking on a new era here at the Mater. This is an exciting time for us as we go through transformational change across our organisation,’’ he said.

“This change requires an expert team of professionals with exceptional vision, governance, focus and commitment.’’

Mr Brady said they were looking for a new director for next year with finance and capital expertise who could provide additional knowledge during this time of change.
