PIECE OF SUCCESS FOR DJ S TORES

- STEPHANIE BENNETT

QUEENSLAND s wimwear company Une Piece has landed a deal with David Jones to be stocked in sites around the country.

From tomorrow, the brand will be available in nine David Jones department stores, including online and in Brisbane’s QueensPlaza.

Une Piece founder Carly Brown said the company, which rapidly gained a loyal following with its uniquely designed sunsafe swimwear, had performed strongly in the two years since it was launched.

The brand is now sold in more than 50 countries, with a social media following of more than 18,000.

“Last month, we saw a 150 per cent growth in sales compared to sales in October 2017,” Ms Brown said. “Consumers are really drawn to not only our message of empowerment, but also the fact that we’ve managed to achieve that tricky balance between timeless style and high sun protection.”

Ms Brown said she believed having a bricks- andmortar presence via David Jones would further accelerate its growth.
