Eatery under Willows’ wing

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

A NEW eatery offering rustic American- inspired cuisine will open its first Queensland store at Willows Shopping Centre.

Buffalos Burgers and Wings, which serves American and Mexican inspired food such as wings, burgers and nachos, plans to open in January.

The new restaurant will create 20 jobs and the company is already recruiting.

Construction of the new restaurant, at the entrance to Market Court and next door to Wara Sushi, is already under way.

Buffalos Burgers and Wings director Ahmad Dabboussi said Townsville and Willows Shopping were a perfect fit.

“It ( Townsville) was brought to my attention by my leasing consultant so we came up and visited and we really liked the location,” he said. “I think Buffalos offers something Townsville doesn’t have in terms of the food and the look and feel of the restaurant.

“It will seat 150 people and there is going to be a very large outdoor deck area and we’re also building a pergola.”

The restaurant will offer a full dine- in service and takeaway. The company is also investigating delivery options such as Uber Eats.

Buffalos Burgers and Wings opened its first store Centre in Liverpool, Sydney, in July this year.

Their wings and huge selection of sauces and burgers have already earned a loyal following.

Willows centre manager Andrew Stallan said the store would be the company’s first in Queensland and only its second in Australia.

“Willows Shopping Centre are proud to introduce another first- to- market retailer to Townsville, with the Buffalos Burgers and Wings Restaurant due to open early in the new year,” he said.

“This latest dining offering at Willows is part of our ongoing commitment to introduce new and desirable brands.”
