Grant’s big dance dream
GRANT Denyer has joked about his wishlist for Dancing With The Stars competitors.
The Gold Logie winner, who has previously taken home the trophy when the series aired on Seven and will cohost the Network 10 revival of the show with Amanda Keller, named Schapelle Corby and Barnaby Joyce as being on his radar,
“These shows are great for redemption,” he said.
“Look at what I’m A Celebrity... ( Get Me Out Of Here!) did for Brendan Fevola.
“They ( contestants) could turn their whole lives around. When in doubt, put yourself on national TV and you never know what could happen.
“Maybe Barnaby Joyce has got a bit of free time on his hands – I’m trying to get his number right now. I think it would be brilliant.”
Denyer, who along with the likes of Keller, Matt Preston and Lisa Wilkinson, was in Brisbane last night for a lavish network event. He said the team behind Dancing With The Stars would “throw the net pretty wide” when it came to finding their celebrity competitors.
“We’ll have to wait and see who wants to come and party with us,” he said.
After a hugely eventful year, which included winning the Gold Logie, bidding farewell to Family Feud and taking out Best Newcomer at the 2018 Australian Commercial Radio Awards, Denyer said he was ready to collapse at the finish line in “exhaustion and jubilance”.
“It’s been one of the biggest years of my life, it has been incredible,” he said.
Network 10 also hosted celebrities including MasterChef star and Sum Yung Guys coowner Matt Sinclair and fellow MasterChef graduate Chloe Carroll, as well as 10 News First Queensland news presenter Georgina Lewis at the event to celebrate their 2019 program slate.
