Genuine Aussies aren’t swayed by skin colour

I HAVE no intention of going toeto-toe with Coralie Cassady, or winning any kind of debate about her letters, but I would like to say this.

We have here, a country free from old, stale, and boring traditions still practised in

England and Europe. Here is a land, isolated by sea, where we can make our own traditions.

This land was built by blood, toil, tears and sweat.

Yes, and your mob helped us do it, mainly out on the many cattle properties that they worked on, and your young men also joined up when the Japanese had ideas about occupying our beautiful country.

Your boys fought alongside the white fellas as well to keep them out. Coralie, come with us, mate. Let us put our arms around you all, forget the past as there is absolutely nothing that we can do to change it, but we can build a future together to make

Australia the best country in the world to live in.

Genuine Aussies are the most non-racial people that I have ever brushed shoulders with.

You all have every right to reach great heights in the community, there’s nothing to stop you.

The US free system has proved that coloured men and women of America can make it to the top, in every department, and we can do the same here. Why not?
