ZOO’S BABY CHIMP A TOURISM CHAMP

-

CAPRI is the heart and soul of Rockhampton Zoo and people travel from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the first chimpanzee born in Queensland in 40 years.

The baby chimp turns one tomorrow and staff at the zoo are celebrating by sharing photos of the many milestones Capri has achieved in her first year.

“The rarity of seeing a baby chimpanzee up close is not lost on our zoo’s visitors,” Rockhampton City Councillor Cherie Rutherford said.

She will celebrate her birth- day like any other one-yearold, with birthday cake and special presents.

“Capri has been wonderful for Rockhampton Zoo and the tourist numbers show our little star is sure to capture hearts for a long time to come yet,” Cr Rutherford said.
