Best new talent in free show at JCU‘S Live and Local

-

SUPPORT the best up-andcoming names in local music tomorrow with Live and Local at James Cook University.

Live and Local is set to feature Late November, Coley, Matilda Duncan ( pictured), Headlights, Voye and Meraki.

The free show is set to start at 6pm, with giveaways and more to start your weekend the right way.

Townsville musician Matilda Duncan said while the event is part of JCU’S O Week, the show is open to the public and all are welcome.

“It’s been planned since the start of the year, and it’s put on by the JCU Open Mic team,” she said.

“They got in touch with some local acts and put us all together.”

Duncan said she was looking forward to playing with other locally-based performers and see what everyone had been up to.

“I love it, we’re all a bit of a family which is awesome,” she said.

“It’s great to be able to play shows with your friends.”

Duncan will also support Aussie singer-songwriter Ayla in an intimate gig in Townsville on Sunday.

Ayla’s latest single Small Talk was released in November, with more new tracks expected from the young indie artist soon.

Duncan said the unique gig was set to have a relaxed vibe, with limited spaces.

“It’s going to be a really nice little intimate show,” she said.
