Why should public housing be any different to normal rentals. The government should only build units for public housing as most people do not look after their yards. Each public housing block of units should also come with an on site manager. Every taxpayer is their landlord the therefore our voice should be heard.kath Rasmussen

Has anyone else noticed the irony of Israel Folau’s claim that Hell awaits Atheists? Correct me if I’m wrong, but surely in the minds of Atheists there is no Heaven or Hell, therefore it’s totally pointless threatening that they’ll go to a non-existent place. If NZ or any other country wants “less plastic ... in rivers” they don’t need to ban their public’s use of them (TB, 1/7). They just need to stop exporting them to poor countries who take the money to “recycle” them - and then dump them straight into rivers. Simple, really. Plastic is energy-rich, so is a good fuel source for dioxin-scrubbed electricity generators. Miner, Kelso

The price of admission to this year’s T’ville show has been reduced. This is good, of course, but many disability pensioners are denied the benefit. The problem is that some disabled people can’t attend such events without a companion-carer. There’s a concession card for this, but it’s not being accepted at this year’s show. So, disabled people are effectively being charged twice as much as everyone else. Maybe it’s a message to say that wheelchair users and so on are unwelcome. Either way it’s blatantly unfair discrimination. Michael. Currajong 4812
