THOUSANDS of Supercars fans will flock to Reid Park for Townsville’s biggest three days of high octane action.

Jamie Whincup may be the undisputed king of Reid Park, but the championsh­ip dominating Shell V Power duo of Scott Mclaughlin and Fabian Coulthard have been tipped for more success.

Whether it be pulling up the fold-out chairs and sitting at your favourite turn, or bouncing along to some Aussie rock legends, this year’s Townsville 400 has something for absolutely everyone.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Townsville 400.

TICKETS

GENERAL ADMISSION: Friday tickets: $36; Saturday: $67; Sunday: $67

THREE-DAY PASS: $108 All tickets allow residents to roam throughout the Supercars grounds as well as see Saturday night’s concert. Children under 12 are free for general admission all weekend with a paying adult.

ACCESS

Gates will open to the public at 8am on Friday, and 7.30am on Saturday and Sunday.

ATMS will operate during the gate open times and are located throughout the precinct in Merchandis­e Alley, near the Watpac Supertop and near the Coopers Roll Bar.

PARKING

A regulated event parking area will be in place from 7am-7pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday around Reid Park to stop nonresiden­ts from parking on the streets.

A two-hour limit will apply to any vehicle parked on the street during this time, however pre-purchased parking and pay as you go will be available at multiple locations including:

Townsville West State School – Entry through Wilson St;

Townsville State High School – Entry through First St;

Railway Estate Primary School – Entry through Ninth St;

Pripark – Entry through First Ave, Railway Estate

Fit for Life Financial Services Centre – Entry through 62 Charters Towers Rd.

SUNBUS will operate dedicated Supercars bus services to and from the Reid Park Precinct. People travelling to and from the event, in possession of an event ticket or accreditat­ion pass, are permitted free travel on the dedicated routes on Saturday and Sunday. Travel on all other Sunbus services will incur a regular fare.

TAXIS will also be operating and will drop off and pick up from Gate 1 behind Officework­s, by Brodie St and Gate 3 at Flower St and First St in Railway Estate. Taxis can be contacted at 131 008 (13TAXI) or tsvtaxi.com.au

ENTERTAINM­ENT

Killing Heidi and Aussie rock legends Icehouse under the Watpac Supertop, behind the Supercars Paddock on Saturday from 5.45pm.

Your event tickets include the concert.

FOOD AND DRINKS

There are food outlets located around the event precinct.

Patrons may bring in limited quantities of food and drink for personal consumptio­n.

No alcohol or glass is permitted to be brought into the precinct.

Alcoholic beverages are available for sale from bars and licensed outlets the venue.

Bars will operate from 10am daily. Liquor licensing laws prevent patrons from bringing in their own alcohol. No glass is permitted. throughout

INFORMATIO­N BOOTH

The informatio­n booth is located at the Civic Theatre on the inside of the circuit opposite the pit straight pedestrian bridge.

The informatio­n booth will be the first point of contact for all lost property.

PARENTS ROOM

Baby changing facilities are located in the Civic Theatre.

TRACK CROSSINGS

Public track crossings will be conducted throughout the event to allow people to cross the track without using the pedestrian bridges, which is particular­ly useful for patrons with prams or disabiliti­es.

The crossings will occur on either side of the track at Pedestrian Bridge 1 and Pedestrian Bridge 4 three times on Friday from 9.05am, three times on Saturday from 8.35am and four times on Sunday from 8.15am.
