How many more people have to die on the Alligator Creek stretch of highway before Minister Bailey decides it is as high a priority as saving Brisbane drivers a few moments on their way to work? Or lives are pretty cheap for people like him. Axe, Cluden

Why do we make the simple so complex. If you commit a crime you get punished. Time to stop supporting the minority and protect those good solid citizens. Surely it’s not that hard. Jodie Annandale

Peter Campion - lifting buildings may be “straightforward” if you throw enough money at them, but raising everything within cooee of the sea by 2100 is a cost that can be avoided altogether by simply not heating the planet in the first place. Then our children and grandchildren could spend that $14 trillion a year on better things than fixing our mistakes. Steve, Belgian Gardens

Why does Townsville Council increase rates and then use ratepayers money to give grants? Surely all money received should be used to repair and improve city infrastructure. Jeff Sth Townsville

“Climate change hoax collapses as new science finds human activity has virtually zero impact on global temperatures”.

“During the last 100 years the temperature has increased about 0.1 degreesc because of CO2. Human contribution was about 0.01 degreesc a 1/10th of that”. “If we pay attention to the fact that only a small part of the increased CO2 concentration is anthropogenic, we have to recognise that the anthropogenic climate change, in other words man-made global warming does not exist in practice”. 3 latest quotes from eminently qualified Finnish and Japanese Scientists. Surely now a full, open, broad, consideration of climate is required. Current modelling, clearly unable to provide adequate information must be reassessed. PS: Even Bob Brown is railing against a Tasmanian wind/transmission line project using anticoal/climate change rhetoric. Bazza Mt Low.

Re: Kids socialised to be bullies page 3. Socialisation can come from sources that are not from home. I can say with authority our own kids were taught manners & respect some chose peer group and drug influences to become school bully then adult thug. Please don’t judge all parents. Some kids choose to be hard headed and run wild others don’t. Even in the same family. A Mum.4810.

Credible Hulk. I agree with you 100 %. It’s not only the schoolyard bully that needs a hiding , but their parents as well. Bring back the cane for the kids and a good old fashioned thumping outside the local pub for the mums & dads. Let’s get a bit of rough justice happening again in our communities . Ox Rosslea

Great letter Sandra Chesney, I wasn’t aware the best club in T’ville had insurance problems. I confess the wife & I haven’t been to the RSL since the floods. Your description of the club is spot on, & it would be an absolute tragedy if it does not return to it’s glory pre flood days. The best place for a drink/meal & social interaction. Pedro Cranbrook

Could someone please explain to me why the last pass thrown in the state of origin was not called a forward pass?? It appeared to be at least a meter plus forward. LM 4850

Oh the irony, current affair running a story on problem gambling, with betting agency ads in between! That’ll fixem. TH4818

A big congrats to theatreinq for the great production of Alice through the looking glass. The polished performances from tweedle dee and tweedle dumb to Humpty it was an outstanding presentation. Anderson park was a great venue too. Well done to all. BAM kirwan.

Peter Campion, please see a doctor, your obsession with conspiracy theories has many Bulletin readers genuinely worried for your mental health. Herper avale

A word to Wendy Tubman from Nelly Bay. You are right Wendy, not all want to see Adani go ahead. But the majority of voters here do. That is democracy, he won, your crew lost. Go to the back of the line. Rodney Battle Rangewood

Wendy Tubman. I hate to burst that Green bubble of yours. But we just had a Federal election where we were told quite clearly that the Labor /Green party that this election was about Coal/ Adani / Climate change. That was there stance. Your TTE Saturday you said that not everyone wanted Adani/ Coal. In Australia Wendy we have a Democratic System where we all get a vote for the party who’s policy we think is best for us. Now Wendy in saying that we the People voted against the Labor / Greens policy. So Wendy while your entitled to your opinion in this Democratic Country we the voters in a Majority voted for Adani / Coal. I know you and
