YASMIN BONNELL 4722 4451 LOCAL business Madison Building Group has moved into its first office in Belgian Gardens, with the company eyeing off a positive shift in Townsville’s market conditions.
After working from a home office for the past four years, company owner Toni Wells said she and her husband Stephen Wells had been waiting for the right time to make the move.
“We started off subcontracting to another builder down south and we were supervising more than anything,” Ms Wells said.
“We finished renovating our own home at the beginning of this year and thought we would start doing our own thing.
“At the start of this year we decided to take on more work and coincidentally that was the same time the floods happened.”
Ms Wells said the business was focusing on its clients and producing the best quality rather than taking on too much.
“We are a privately owned family business and I believe our commitment to service is second to none,” she said.
“We are a small team of three, which enables us to have one-onone contact with our clients. As we have four children, we understand our clients’ challenges involved with time and the need to be flexible to our clients’ needs.
“We don’t endeavour to take over the building world, just to maintain our business at a level where we can all manage without neglecting parts of the process required to successfully deliver our clients their dream home.”
The office space, which is about 70sq m, is located at D/1 Taylor St in Belgian Gardens and has plenty of exposure to traffic.
Leasing agent at Colliers International Townsville, Mitchell Barnes, said the site offered plenty of ideal features for a small business.
“The site has great main road exposure with quality signage opportunities,” Mr Barnes said.
“It’s also an affordable rental and presents very well.”
