FRANKLIN FUTURE IS WITH SWANNIES

-

AFL: Lance Franklin can’t see ee himself finishing hi his career anywhere h other than the Swans and insists there’s still plenty of quality football left in him ahead of his 300th game.

The 32-year-old fronted a large media contingent at the SCG yesterday before his milestone match against St Kilda tomorrow.

“It’s been a frustrating year but finally got my body right and ready to get out there on Saturday,” he said.

“I’ve prepared well and I’m ready to go.”

It’s been a battle but Franklin has won the race to be fit for the final game for retiring Swans stars Jarrad Mcveigh and Kieren Jack.

“I’m excited. It’s going to be a huge day for the footy club with Macca (if fit) and Kizza’s last games,” Franklin said.

“I’m definitely very proud. To play 300 gamgames games you’ve ’ got t to b be d doing something right.”

As for the future, Franklin is optimistic.

“I’m looking forward to having a little bit of a break but then getting back into a really strong pre-season and hopefully have a really good year next year,” he said.

“Very confident I’ve still got some really good football in front of me I feel and I’ve got no doubt I can get back to my best next year.”

As for the longer term, Franklin still has several years to run on his mega deal with retirement likely after that.

“Still got three more years,” he said. “I think that’ll do me after the three years. I’ll be 35 or 36 by then so hopefully get to 350 games would be nice.” — Jon Ritson
