$464,000 prize for local mum

-

A TOWNSVILLE mum says she’s on top of the world after discovering she’s almost halfa-million dollars richer from scoring a Keno 9 Spot jackpot prize.

The North Queensland woman had the winning entry in Friday’s competition. Her entry won her $464,135.90.

Confirming her win with a Keno official yesterday, the winner revealed she had no idea she’d won a major prize.

“I’m on top of the world!” she laughed.

“Thank you! This is all a little bit exciting. I had no idea I’d won until yesterday. I bought the ticket on Friday, then over the weekend I heard they were looking for someone who had won a major Keno prize down at the pub.

“All night I dreamt about Keno, until I went and checked my ticket yesterday. I don’t think the news has sunk in yet. This is life-changing!”

The generous mum revealed she would keep working but would use her prize to fulfil a lifelong dream.

“I’ve always wanted to buy a motorhome and travel around Australia so I will definitely be doing that,” she said.

“We’re going to spoil the kids, pay a few bills and pay the mortgage off.

“Then the rest is probably going to go in the bank.”

The hardworking woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at the Oonoonba Hotel.

Oonoonba Hotel Motel duty manager Julie-anne Anderson said she was thrilled to see the win had gone to a local and regular patron.

“This win has certainly got everyone at the hotel talking,” she said.

“It was very exciting here on Friday when we realised someone at the venue had won a massive prize. This is the first big Keno win for us.

“Congratulations to her.

We are sure she’s going to enjoy her prize.”
