NQ voters simply ignored

-

THE State Government was at the Entertainment Centre where the socalled Queensland Parliament was conducting the state’s business.

I have to ask why did the Parliament bother to come to North Queensland when they are not one bit interested in anything pertaining to North Queenslanders?

There was a separate state movement meeting outside not 100m from where the shiny backsides of 73 members who reside within 250km of Brisbane were. These MPS purport to vote on our behalf; they are supposed to represent not only their own electorate but the welfare of the whole of Queensland.

This was not an Adani protest, but quiet Australians acting as a group of concerned farmers ( from Ayr, out west, and Ingham), business people, pensioners and workers.

Queensland voters who in the middle of a work day made the effort to attend hoping the Premier and some of the 73 Labor and LNP Brisbane-bound parliamentarians would be interested in their concerns.

The fact that only three Katter Party members, Bob Katter, LNP’S George Christensen, independent Jason Costigan, had the decency and interest to attend and listen to our concerns says it all.

The Premier and all your Brisbane clan of PC virtual signallers, both Labor and LNP, who could not be bothered to pry yourselves out of your airconditioned seats and come out and listen to what might be an enlightening conversation and gain some insight into just why the Federal Labor Party lost the election, once again your contempt is showing.

My disappointment, nay astonishment, at the LNP who expect North Queensland voters to vote for them in the next state election also could not be bothered.

This is why North Queensland is different – we are not fools to be fed scraps and expected to lay the golden egg to provide the state with coffers to spend in the south.

These so-called politicians are not interested in the decimation to the agricultural industry in North Queensland that the furphy the proposed Reef Protection Bill will deliver.

I misguidedly believed that most politicians would serve with honour and integrity. This would mean that before voting for the Reef Protection Bill or any other Bill they would seek out all information. In other words, the effect this Bill will have on the northern community, check what proven science backs their decision and not just advice from the climate change ideology cult.

The biggest insult to North Queenslanders is the fact Brisbane MPS think they are saving the Reef.

North Queenslanders care about our beloved Reef, it is the lifeblood of our existence and we live with the Reef, but we also believe in true and reliable science and not bureaucratic science that relies on government grants for their existence.

We tend to believe long-term resident experts like Dr Peter Ridd, who has devoted his life to work on the Reef and is not a just a “blow-in” with death and destruction science.

Apparently the quiet Australian has no means of communicating with these politicians except by the ballot – what a surprise that the smaller parties are gaining momentum.

What a huge waste of money and time to bring the State Parliament to North Queensland if you are not going to discuss issues pertaining to the area and are not interested in understanding the consequences or concerns of the community.

I would like you to email or try to get in contact with your local MP and all you get is staff on the phone and a generic email message saying they have received your email and no further contact.

It’s a no-brainer the case for North Queensland to demand a separate state has never been more clear.

Let southeast Queensland pay for their own 73 politicians who do not represent North Queensland.

We will pay for our own politicians to just represent North Queensland as a separate state.

Thanks Premier, out of your own mouth you showed your true colours with your comment about you not being interested.

We are not surprised – roll on the next state election.

As I have already, said Premier and LNP you just don’t get it.

Jensen.
