Flash Pappa in form

- LEE PEARCE

GREYHOUND racing returns to the Townsville Showgrounds tonight with a 12-raceprogram including the Evelyn Camp 5th Grade over 380m.

This is a good-quality field with a number of youngsters starting to come up through the grades.

Flash Pappa (7) for Glen Olsen has won his past two starts from the rails; he has drawn wide tonight but can muster speed quickly. Benny Bulldozer (3) for Michael Hickmott has each way claims after drawing well near the rails and should run another bold race.

Rumble Master (6) for Brad Belford is back to his distance, winning both his starts. He is a good beginner and should be one of the favourites.

Midnight Mcqueen (5) for Carol Pickard has been racing with mixed success in Bundaberg and Brisbane, but can begin on his night, and is a place chance.

Race 5 is the Peter Wilson 5th Grade over 498m.

Kenna (1) for Heath Ardle has drawn well and has good box speed and should be one of the leaders.

Genie’s Girl (2) for Andrew Wooler ran a great race last week from box eight for a second behind Wild Wish.

She will be right in this with each way claims.

Naturally Gifted (3) for Rhonda Essery is a former NSW runner having her first start at the distance.

She has won at Wentworth Park over the 520m and at Gosford over the 515m, so watch the market closely.

Race 8 is the Just Perfect Kitchens FFA over 498m.

Wild Wish (1) for Mate Rajan won here last week from box three, but he has drawn better this week and should be up there with the leaders.

Brindi Chopper (2) for Michael Pandelakis is a big chance from this draw; she can begin well on her night and has been freshened up to earn each way claims.

Dalmatynski (3) for Joan Newnham is stepping back up in distance. He loves it close to the rail and is a place chance.

Poppy Chooky (8) for Heath Ardle has each way claims.
