NOTICE OF PROPOSED GRANT OF AN EXPLORATION PERMIT FOR MINERALS
NATIVE TITLE ACT 1993 (CTH) SECTION 29
The Queensland Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy, PO Box 15216, City East, Queensland, 4002, hereby gives notice in accordance with section 29 of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) of the proposed grant of EPM 26931 shown below under the Mineral Resources Act 1989 (Qld).
Nature of Act(s): The grant of the Exploration Permit under the Mineral Resources Act 1989 (Qld), authorises the holder to explore for minerals for a term not exceeding five (5) years with the possibility of renewal for a term not exceeding five (5) years. It is proposed to grant the Exploration Permit subject to the Mineral Resources Act 1989 (Qld) and the Native Title Protection Conditions.
Name and address of person doing acts: It is proposed that the Exploration Permit be granted subject to the provisions of the Mineral Resources Act 1989 (Qld) by the Queensland Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy, PO Box 15216, City East, Queensland, 4002. Native Title Parties: Under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) any person who is a “native title party” is entitled to certain rights in relation to the proposed grant of the Exploration Permit. Under section 30 of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth), persons have until three (3) months after Notification Day to take certain steps to become native title parties in relation to this notice. Each individual Exploration Permit may be granted unless, within a period of four (4) months after the Notification Day a native title party lodges an objection in respect of the individual Exploration Permit with the National Native Title Tribunal against the inclusion of the statement that the State considers the grant of that Exploration Permit is a future act attracting the Expedited Procedure.
