FACEBOOK TO POTENTIALLY REMOVE LIKES

A couple of months ago, Instagram began trialling hidden Like counts in several countries including Australia, Canada and Japan.

The trial was implemented in an effort to change the impact that Like counts have reportedly had on users’ mental health.

While Instagram is still testing user reception to this major platform change, Facebook has taken a liking to the idea and has begun similar testing on its own platform. Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter-famous for her ability to uncover yet-to-be-released tech features, shone a light on this test, showing that Facebook may soon be leaning towards Reactions over Like counts.

With many Instagram users on the fence about the hiding of Like counts, this is an incredibly bold leap that Facebook is taking.

However, if this change to the platform results in healthier and happier Facebook users, it seems worth putting to the test. FACEBOOK DATING LAUNCHES IN THE US

It’s Facebook official: Facebook has finally launched its much-anticipated dating feature in the US.

Facebook Dating is designed to add some ease to the process of finding love.

By connecting a user’s Facebook and Instagram to their dating profile, the feature is meant to make it easier to share the best aspects of a user’s personality, while adding some extra perks that other dating sites and apps cannot yet offer.

Secret Crush is a feature that allows users to let their Facebook Friends know they have a crush, without revealing who they are unless the receiver shares the same feelings.

Depending on how successful Facebook Dating’s rollout is in the US, the rest of the world may soon see this become available, so keep an eye out.
