COWBOYS SAVOUR AWARD GLORY

-

THE Cowboys Leagues Club’s restaurant has proved hugely popular for the fourth year in a row.

The club won two awards at the 2019 QLD and NT Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence – People’s Choice Best Restaurant and Best Restaurant in a Pub/club/tavern in Queensland.

It is the fourth consecutive year the club has won the people’s choice award. Cowboys Leagues Club general manager Clint Williams said it was an incredible achievement to be recognised by a national industry body and patrons.

“For a regional club to win either of these prestigious awards, from outside the southeast corner and up against restaurants in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, is an amazing achievement by our team, and something the North Queensland community can be proud of,” he said.

Restaurant and Catering Association CEO Wes Lambert commended the club on its win.

“Running a hospitality business isn’t easy – there’s a lot of blood, sweat and tears that goes into making it work,” he said.

“But when you get the right mix of staff, produce and service, the results can be extraordinary.” The award comes after a big win at the Clubs Qld Awards for Excellence earlier in the year, when the club won Best Club cafe in Queensland and was runner up in the Best Dining in Queensland category.

Executive chef of the club’s dining outlets, Thomas Martyn, said the club’s catering team, back and front of house, was extremely honoured.
