Melbourne’s marathon man set to storm Dally M awards
TONIGHT is the night of nights for the NRL, it’s rugby league’s version of t the Oscars — the Dally Ms.
So who makes the Dally M Team of the Year?
Fullback: James Tedesco
Tedesco finished the year with more tackle breaks and line breaks than any other player, he scored 17 tries, had 13 try assists and averaged more than 200m a game.
Winger: Maika Sivo
It’s hard to believe that this was Sivo’s first season in first grade and to score 22 tries in 25 appearances is nothing short of amazing.
Centre: Latrell Mitchell
There’s been plenty of centers who have had great seasons for their club but I can’t go past Mitchell.
Five-eighth: Cameron Munster
You could dead set throw a blanket over Cameron Munster, Cody Walker and Luke Keary for the gong but the Storm playmaker has put together another consistent year. Halfback: Mitchell Moses
Moses finished the year with an astonishing 27 try assists and helped take the Eels from the wooden spoon in 2018 to the finals this year.
Prop: Payne Haas
No forward in the game ran for more metres than Haas in 2019, he also finished the year with four tries and 162 tackle busts. It’s hard to believe this kid is only 19 years of age!
Hooker: Cameron Smith
There is no player in the history of our game who has been as consistent as Smith and 2019 was no different.
Back-rower: John Bateman
Close to the Raiders best week in and week out and has been a major force behind their march to the grand final.
Lock: Jake Trbojevic
It’s hard to leave Jason Taumalolo out of this side but Trbojevic was the driving force behind the Sea Eagles’ return to the finals this year.
Interchange: Brandon Smith Brandon Smith is the little terrier who never takes a backward step.
Dally M Medal: Cameron Smith
