Curious as to what the old stadium on Golf Links Drive is going to be used for now the new stadium will house all the NRL games. Can I suggest the showgrounds (which is an eyesore to our city) relocate there and the old showgrounds be made into a nice colonial style housing estate to blend with the heritage style buildings already around that area? Any investors out there who have vision and money willing to improve our city area and bring jobs and wealth back to our city? Ja 4814

I am not a supporter of either team, however Canberra were the winners. There were 3 areas that may have changed result, which were trainer obstructing play, possible penalty try and ref changing mind on “play on”. Bad luck Canberra, next time. Macca. 4814
As an observer of our ABC, it’s becoming indisputably clear as it has been for a while of their bias and lean to the left. Today’s example would be of all the news services they could choose to take to supply their international world view they chose Al Jazeera. Go figure. And if there is one reporter, if I could use that term, that is THE most biased and antagonistic towards President Trump it would be Jim Acosta and it is him that the ABC goes to to get their in-depth unbiased reporting on the dramas playing out in the States. Mary Boyle letter 7/10/19 – Many residents understand that multi-storey developments beyond 5 storeys create homes, tourism & hospitality jobs, and provide amenity for all Townsvillians and tourists which far outweigh any perceived “parking problems”. I applaud TCC for considering developments higher than 5 storeys & hope this planning restriction is removed in the future. Take a look at Cairns, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, ocean fronts to see the benefits that these greater than 5 storey multi-storey developments provide. It won’t spoil our Strand, it will enhance it. Mary Boyle’s letter very neatly packages up everything that’s broken in Townsville. Residents on the Strand are stuck in a time warp (from the 70s). Without development, this city will perish. It’s bizarre how many people are wearing rose coloured glasses thinking the new stadium will provide some massive boost to the CBD and Palmer Street. Almost all people who go to stadium events will wrestle with trying to find a carpark then take off home after the event. It’s folly to think punters will flock to cafes and shops prior to or after a stadium event. If it were true, Willows would open on Cowboys home game nights, but it doesn’t. Azza 4812

The only reason uni graduates don’t have much higher unemployment is the evergrowing public service. Only degree holders are given PS jobs, whether it’s a prerequisite of the position or not. Brothers Leagues Club – have you thought of running buses from your club to new stadium? A winner for you. People park there at small fee and then they can eat, drink and gamble after the game. Takes the hassle out of parking especially for aged. Jkirwan

Re Kerry WE Sat Bully. Have you seen the video on Facebook of Greta Thunberg, with script and without? With script very outspoken and enraged with the world, without script was asked questions by journalists and couldn’t answer any of them, told journo to ask others on the panel. Shame the TV stations don’t show both sides of this obviously well rehearsed young girl. She is a joke and not helping the cause at all.
