Eyes on Irinka Maxi
TOWNSVILLE Greyhounds will open its meeting in fitting fashion at the Townsville Showground tonight, with the opening heat of the Robert Olsen Memorial Maiden.
It is the first of two heats over the 380m distance for the night, and will be highlighted by the return of Irinka Maxi for Harold Hovi.
He will jump from the inside box in what is his first race in over a month. He had been consistent before his break and has drawn well. Moving Target (6) for Michael Hickmott is a well-bred youngster having his first start.

The second heat of the night will be race eight on the 12-race program, and again it is the inside box to keep your eye on.
Prawn Boat for Rhonda Essery gets his chance tonight to break his maiden from the inside alley but he will not have it easy.
Don’t Test Me (2) for Tony Gaiardo is having her first look at the track while Flyin’ Scarlett (3) for Jay Schafer had her first run last week with a second behind More Please and she will only be better for the run.
All In Time (4) for Michael Hickmott is a well-bred youngster having his first start tonight as well. Finito Show (8) for Clarence Wilcox is having her start tonight.
The other feature event on tonight’s program is the QLD Bred 5th Grade final over 380m. Aerobic Digestor (2) for Danny Preh won his heat last week from box five in 22.32. He has drawn better tonight, has good box speed and should lead this field.
Vegas Rose (3) for Matthew Mcguire ran a good second last week in his heat from box one behind Silver Lining. It can go close from here and has each way claims.
Silver Lining (4) for Michael Hickmott won her heat last week from box six in 22.52, and she can begin well on her night.
Kennelling for tonight’s race meeting closes at 5.02pm with the first race at 5.47pm.
