PCYC will have to provide answers

-

IT’S a case of it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, then it’s a duck.

But for some reason PCYC Queensland has refused again and again to be transparent about the future of the Castle Hill PCYC even though the community has watched this facility die a slow death.

It appears the Hugh St community club is officially down and out for the count, as confirmed by Townsville City Council and the State Government, who appear to have been unfortunately caught in the PCYC’S death spiral.

The people who use this facility deserve a clear, coherent answer from PCYC Queensland, instead of the obfuscation they’ve been provided.

Smart move, Adani

It’s smart thinking that Adani is looking to grow its business more into the renewables sector.

There is money to be made there and it’s clearly a growth sector in Australia.

Despite what some people say Australia has invested heavily in renewables.

The evidence is very obvious in North Queensland with numerous projects already built, along with others well into the planning stages.

Already Adani has built the Rugby Run solar farm near Moranbah and says it wants to become the world’s largest solar power company within five years.

Adani is obviously behind the Carmichael coal mine project which is being built now.

People will say there’s a conflict between mining coal and being in the renewables industry.

Any company can do both and will do if it makes business sense to.

Coal and renewables are both key parts of Australia and North Queensland’s economy and right now they can exist harmoniously.
