No idea about crime

EXCELLENT letter from Mike Abraham (TB, Wednesday 26/2). Mike is spot on with his thoughts regarding the Queensland Government’s incompetence in the way they deal with crime.

To be honest Annastacia Palaszczuk and her motley crew have absolutely no idea what they are doing to rectify the crime problem. Mike suggests that we change the way we vote at the next election. I find it very difficult to believe that any clear thinking Queenslander would be silly enough to vote this mob back in, even though they always vote Labor no matter what, or how entrenched they are in the Labor Party through work, family, or because their Mum, Dad, or grandparents voted that way.

Within the next few months Annastacia will be on her soap box with a cheesy smile telling us how much she loves Queensland and her Government is totally committed in every way to Townsville and this region.

Of course she will also state that she had no idea how dire the crime situation is and has been for several years as she was not informed and should have been told (seen and heard this statement many times when the s--t hits the fan).

Annastacia or any of her crew will not reveal that they have already booked their holidays to start shortly after the election. Most politicians travel to the USA when chucked out.

Others prefer Europe but one thing we are sure of with their nice pay packets etc. cash will not be a problem. When the new government takes over and if by any chance they are as weak and hopeless as the current regime, they must implement laws and rules to cover all the victims of crime for all financial loss as that is very important and necessary.

Also if the incoming government are as painful as the current lot, then they should also cop a battering from the public.

With you all the way Mike Abraham, and all the other letter writers that show their concern and well meaning about the awful but easily eradicated crime epidemic that has been going on forever.

We must have the right people in charge. A start is to lockup the 60 or so criminals that are doing the crimes as it’s impossible to steal from residents behind bars. Surely that’s not too hard for extremely well paid authorities? Or is it?
