‘Time is right’ to sell units

- TONY RAGGATT

THE latest entrant in Townsville’s unit market revival has launched sales in the West End project called Percyville Apartments.

Sunshine Coast-based Grandview Developments is taking on the $11 million project at a site on Bundock St opposite Cutheringa Park.

Grandview is pitching to the affordable living market, appealing to young professionals, first-home buyers and fly in, fly out workers.

General manager Gavin Wuiske said they felt the time was right to undertake the development after a decade when few unit projects had been built in Townsville.

“We really feel that Townsville has similar infrastructure spending now that the Sunshine Coast has enjoyed over the past five years,” he said.

Percyville Apartments will be a 28-unit, gated community in buildings up to three levels.

Prices start at $309,000 for one-bedroom units and $345,000 for two-bedroom apartments.

While prices for established units are lower, Mr Wuiske said the development was new and built to the latest regulations and half the units have two-car garages.

Other Townsville projects include the $24 million luxury residences in Little St, Belgian Gardens, the $50 million Marina Residences in Mariners Drive, the $18 million Anelay apartments and two-storey bar, eatery and entertainment destination at 70 The Strand and a $40 million apartment and restaurant project at 99 the Strand.
