MP Aaron Harper, the new testing station is easy to find. It’s beside the trees housing the flying foxes. L P, WEST END

I have been doing my shopping every Friday morning sticking to my normal routine as we have been told to do. But because of these people who go every day and are hoarding I am starting to miss out on things or products are limited. To these selfish people, I hope you get weevils in your flour, your sugar melts, your cans explode because they have gone way past the use by dates and your toilet paper disintegrates when you use it.

So how exactly is this stimulus package meant to benefit the economy and help people keep their jobs if businesses are being forced to close up and/or lay people off? Seems a little contradictory to me.

I just wonder if this coronavirus which has brought the whole world to its knees is sent as a big wakeup call to a world full of corruption, hate, dishonesty and greed. Perhaps divine intervention and our creator has had enough. Just a thought.

Well everything in Townsville is shutting down what about the Townsville Show just three months away? People need to know. Mavie 4814

The discovery that bats are the reservoir hosts of the coronavirus that causes SARS in humans raises questions about allowing bat colonies in our suburbs. As much as they are a natural part of the environment, they are dirty and now dangerous birds that should be shunted out of Townsville. Does anyone else agree?

The governments, both state and federal, must have rose coloured glasses on if they think they can order so many businesses to close down then just magically reopen in six months’ time. Due to the overheads, government fees and charges business has

We in Australia have amazing considerable people but, unfortunately, we also have the non-compliant, inconsiderate, who cares etc who will not comply with restrictions. These are the very people to avoid as they are the very people who can kill you. COVID-19 is here for some time. M J REYNOLDS, MT LOUISA

to face on a daily basis virtually none of them will be there to reopen in six months’ time, regardless of government incentives. This will be the end of small business in this country.

As a Newstart recipient myself and 11 other people are doing work for the dole, we break the 1.5 metre social distancing rule constantly, from riding in a 12 seater bus to visiting the employment agency packed with coughing and sneezing people. I have brought this to the attention of the manager of the employment agency who showed little interest. Due to my circumstances I have had to move in with my elderly parents and I do not want to infect them with this virus. The PM is telling us to avoid

doing unnecessary travel, so how is weeding and clearing a community garden a necessity. MURRAY 4811

I don’t believe that voting is going ahead & they say for vulnerable people do phone voting but I rang last week and they said don’t do that as it’s too hard. Postpone the election until May like other things have been or send out postal vote for everyone. Worried for the aged people.

Had to wait at Brisbane Airport for connecting flight to Townsville, decided to buy a magazine to read on plane, was told sorry we aren't accepting money, card only. Have never had a credit card in my life, not going to start now. ROSE, RASMUSSEN

All people that have to self isolate for 14 days should have identification bangle like hospitals use only to be removed by official at end of time.

The soccer federation has shutdown all professional and community games and training as a sensible response to COVID-19. The AFL has now gone the same way putting people’s health as more important than profits.

Most of the country is shutting down meanwhile the NRL that has players being paid more in one year than most people earn in a decade, charges on playing games. It’s sad some sports think money is more important than health and safety.
